DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao (MindaNews/04 September) – Unidentified gunmen killed a couple in an ambush Thursday afternoon at the national highway here, police said.
Mantil Sangkad was riding a motorcycle together with his wife, Noriha, and their 7-year old son when the gunmen aboard a car opened fire with cal. 45 pistols.
Quoting witnesses, Senior Inspector Lindsy Sinsuat, town police chief said Noriha was hit first and fell from the motorbike.[]
Her husband appealed to the assailants to spare him, to no avail.[]
The couple’s son escaped unhurt.[]
Villagers nearby took custody of the child and later turned him over to responding police officers.
The victims were heading home from Barangay Dahican at the time of incident.
The couple, who resided in SPDA Village in this town taught Arabic.
