COTABATO CITY (MindaNews/2 May) – A barangay chairman and two of his companions were killed in an ambush Monday, May 1, in South Upi town in Maguindanao, police said.
In a report, the municipal police office of South Upi said Perfecto Travilla, 49, chair of Barangay Pandan of the same town was driving his Wrangler jeep with plate number LED 419 on Monday morning from sitio Bahar.
Upon reaching sitio Linangkat, Pandan three unidentified persons opened fire at the vehicle killing Travilla and two of his companions.
The other fatalities were identified as Jason Mundo, 16, and Alex Tumbaga, 29, also residents of Bahar.
Wounded in the incident was one Mrs. Benito, who was rushed to a hospital in Cotabato City.
Seven other people who were with Travilla were left unhurt, the report said.
