Although far away
we followed their plight closely,
they were ours also.
We held on to hope
as in suspense we all prayed
for them to be saved.
In the end it was
the caring human spirit
daring to risk life
for another human life
that saved them from the cave’s depths.
We pray, gratefully
celebrate humanity,
cheer life’s sanctity.
