The Tagum City Economic Enterprise, an independent income generating department created by the City Council in 2000, is composed of five sections: the public market, public utilities, slaughterhouse, Tagum livestock auction center, Tagum trade center and public cemetery
Collection record for the first quarter shows the public market earning the highest income at P11.3 million; public utilities at P5.5 million; Tagum Trade Center earned P2.7 million; slaughterhouse at P1.4 million; Tagum livestock auction center at P694,207; and public cemetery earned P35,150.
“Our first quarter report including April shows positive indicators that we could get an initial P60 million collection,” Brillante said as he assured the remaining P6 million would be earned before the end of December.
Brillante said his office started operating independently in 2003 without subsidy from the city government. He added that his office is operating just like a government-owned and controlled corporation of the national government based on the corporate powers of the local government.
