ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/28 February) – Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers seized an engineering student late Thursday in Pagadian City, a police official said.
Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, identified the victim as Stephen Tan, 19, an engineering student at the Southern Mindanao College in Pagadian City.
Huesca said the victim was abducted around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in full view of his classmates in front of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation office along Cabrera Street.
He said the gunmen forced the victim to board a sports utility vehicle with plate number KJS-723 that sped off eastward.
The police official said the suspects were carrying high-powered firearms.
He added the Pagadian City police were trying to track down the kidnappers. (MindaNews)
