ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/02 April) – Hired killers were responsible for the death Sunday of a university official, a police official said.
Chief Supt. Mario Yanga, Region-9 police deputy director for administration said three guns for hire killed Hadji Arturo Ammar Eustaquio, chief executive officer of the Universidad de Zamboanga, a private school formerly known as the Zamboanga A. E. Colleges.
Yanga, who heads the task group investigating the incident, said Eustaquio was gunned down 1pm Sunday by three gunmen as he was coming out of his residence at Maestra Vicenta Street, barangay Sta. Maria on board a motorcycle.
Attending physicians at the family-owned Zamboanga A.E. Community Hospital declared the victim dead at 2:05pm. He sustained five gunshot wounds.
Yanga said the killers belong to a local gun-for-hire group.
He did not disclose the identities of the suspects who he said are now being tracked down.
The police official said Eustaquio’s killing was well-planned and well-executed. (MindaNews)
