GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/17 January) — A publisher in General Santos City today reported to have received a threatening message following his condemnation of the murder of fellow publisher Christ
opher Guarin.

Mascardo said he already reported the matter to the local police.

On Monday, Mascardo said he received the following text message “GIHAGIT MO ANG NAGPATAY KAY CHRIS GUARIN IKAW ANG SUNOD” (You are daring the killers of Chris Guarin. You will be next)

The message reportedly came from mobile phone number 09464823367.

Mascardo is the president of local media group Journalist Action Motor Group (JAMG) and has been very vocal in calling for the arrest and prosecution of Guarin’s killers.

Guarin, publisher of Tatak Bigtime News, was killed on January 5 by motorcycle-riding gunmen.
