ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanews/08 October) – Gunmen seized a businesswoman on Saturday in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, a police official disclosed Sunday.
Zamboanga del Sur police director Senior Supt.
Jose Bayani Gucela said the incident took place around 6:30 p.
m. Saturday in barangay Poblacion, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur province.
Gucela identified the victim as Monalisa Capa, who runs a gas station, an ice plant and a fishing business in Pitogo.
The police official said Capa was at her ice plant when 10 gunmen arrived and seized her.
The gunmen forced Capa to board a motorized banca that headed in the direction of Olutanga Island in neighboring Zamboanga Sibugay province, he said.
Gucela said it was easy for the abductors to drag the victim to the boat as her ice plant is located near the shore.
He said the Pitogo Municipal Peace and Order Council convened today to plan possible actions on the incident.
