In the giant cake with a Philippine map on it presented to the public as part of Cagayan de Oro City’s celebration of Philippine Independence Day on 12 June 2014, the Ayungin Shoal, or Ren’aiu Reef to China, is clearly marked as Philippine territory. Made of 1,500 smaller pieces of cakes, the giant cake presented at the Freedom Kiosk in Divisoria was later given away to the public for free. MindaNews photo by Froilan Gallardo
