Up there
there must be
an abundance
of hot air
as the sun’s so near.
Up there
I guess
the atmosphere
is kinda thin
with scarce oxygen.
Being up there
can pose a danger
to one’s state of mind:
hot air can get
into your head
and get the brain fried
especially when
it is oxygen-deprived,
making one think and act
like some untouchable god
or an infallible oracle.
Once you’ve been
up there
you’re in danger
of wanting
to be up there
forever
one way or another.
So, beware!
