Since People Power in 1986 toppled the Marcos dictatorship and restored democracy, we have trooped to the polls 10 times to elect our mayors, governors, local legislators and district representatives: 1988, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 (the first post-EDSA election of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate was held in 1987).
