The three ICRC members were abducted as they were leaving the provincial jail near the capitol in Sulu on January 15. They were expected to return to Zamboanga City that day.
The ICRC and the PNRC said they had been apprised about the “direct threats made by those responsible for the abduction of the ICRC staff members” and are “extremely worried about the three persons' safety.”
They renewed their call for “the immediate and unconditional release” of the three.
“The ICRC and the Philippine National Red Cross remain in constant contact with the authorities concerned to discuss urgent measures necessary to resolve this crisis,” the ICRC press statement read. (MindaNews
