Four of the six who were kidnapped were freed at 3:15 a.m. Monday but for Anna Marie and Marvin Roy Fruto.
The kidnappers, believed led by Mayangcang Saguile, demanded P10 million each for the release of the two captives, Col. Danilo Garcia, commander of the 601st Army Brigade, said.
“I am just a laundry woman and my salary is just enough for our daily expenses. Where are we going to get that amount?” she asked.
Teresita said her daughter works as collector agent of the Realize Personal Collection based in Davao City, to sustain the needs of her three children in Kidapawan City.
“Nagapanawagan ako sa nagahupot sa akong anak nga kon mahimo buhian ninyo siya kay ang iyang mga anak nag-sige ug pangita kaniya,” (I appeal to the abductors to release my daughter because her children are looking for her), she said.
Col. Garcia said the armed men brought the two captives to the nearby Liguasan Marsh.
Garcia named the four companions who were freed Monday evening as Nestor Fruto and his daughter Nesssalyn, Melvin Camacho and El-Marie Jones Goc-ong.
They, along with the two other captives, were on board a red Strada pickup on the way back to Davao City after collecting some P200,000 in Tacurong City when flagged down by four men wearing military uniform in Buluan, Maguindanao. (Williamor A. Magbanua/MindaNews)
