Category 5 typhoon Odette (Rai) made two landfalls in Mindanao (of nine in the Philippines) — in Siargao, Surigao del Norte at 1:30 p.m. and Cagdianao in Dinagat Islands province at 3:10 — pm but it took 24 hours before the world found out what happened in Siargao and 36 hours in the case of Dinagat.
