KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews / 09 May) – A P100,000 cash reward has been put up for the arrest of the suspect in the rape and killing of a 3-year old girl on Sunday.
City Mayor Joseph Evangelista announced the bounty on Wednesday through the city’s official website www.kidapawancity.gov.ph.
The suspect was identified as Rene Montano Bueno, 27, a hardware store employee who was still at large as of Wednesday.
The victim was Bueno’s own cousin, Ella Bueno, whose body was found in a grassy lot near his house in Barangay Singao.
Ella’s mother, Grace, in an interview said the suspect took her daughter on Saturday while she (Grace) was attending a neighbor’s birthday party.
It was only later in the afternoon that they started to look for the child.
“When we could no longer find Rene, I felt something was wrong,” said Grace.
The girl’s body was found Sunday dawn with injuries in the head and private parts, she said.
Evangelista said the identities of informants on Bueno’s whereabouts will be kept confidential.
Meantime, netizens from Kidapawan City had posted in their social media accounts photos of the suspect in the hope of finding him.
