KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews / 17 May) – Police in Kabacan, North Cotabato has already launched its manhunt against a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) believed to be responsible for the hacking of two residents in Poblacion Thursday.
Senior Insp. Maxim Valdez Peralta, chief of the investigation unit of Kabacan PNP, identified the victims as Kim Dulay Enanoria, 55, and her brother Hannibal Caoile Dulay, 53, both residents of Jacinto Street, Poblacion.
The suspect was identified as Nashurdin Languyan, 38, a CAFGU member and resident of Barangay Salapungan, Kabacan.
According to Peralta, Languyan first attacked Enanoria, who was inside her house, at noon.
Peralta said Languyan, with a large single-edged knife or bolo in his hand, hacked Enanoria in the different parts of her body.
The victim was able to shout for help and her brother Hannibal immediately came to her rescue, reports said. But Languyan attacked Dulay, too.
Enanoria, who was still conscious, took a knife inside her kitchen and stabbed Languyan.
Even before the siblings could ask for help from police, Languyan reportedly ran and escaped.
Enanoria was brought to Mindanao Doctors Hospital while Dulay was rushed to Kabacan Polymedic Hospital, both in Kabacan.
Police has yet to determine the motive behind the hacking. (Malu Cadelina Manar / MindaNews)
