MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews / 2 January) — Tropical Depression “Agaton” was traversing Sulu and heading toward Palawan with its center estimated at 170 km west of Dumaguete City as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the state weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
Agaton was packing winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
It was forecast to move west at 28 kph, and is expected to be 275 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City by Wednesday morning.
Pagasa has raised Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 for Palawan including Cuyo Island, Guimaras, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Southern Antique and Southern Iloilo. (MindaNews)
