DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/10 April) – World boxing icon Manny Pacquiao won against American boxer Timothy Bradely in what was dubbed as his “farewell fight” in Las Vegas Saturday night (Sunday noon in Manila).
The 37-year old Pacquio, an eight-division world champion knocked down Bradley twice on his way to a comfortable unanimous decision of 116-110 on all three scorecards of the judges at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the Agence France Presse reported.
“I hope he will find time to concentrate on his political career. He has nothing to prove anymore,” Presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte said of Pacquiao.
“Manny did the Filipinos proud once more,” Duterte said, adding Pacquiao is “a true champion in the hearts of the Filipino people.”
Pacquiao, two-term lone representative of Sarangani province to the House of Representatives, is running for Senator under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) whose standard bearer is Vice President Jejomar Binay.(MindaNews)
