MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/11 April) — Davao City Mayor and presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte grabbed the lead in a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) from March 30 to April 2.
According to the survey results published in BusinessWorld, Duterte obtained the support of 27% of respondents, or 4 percentage-point higher than second-placer Senator Grace Poe who had 23%.
Vice President Jejomar Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance placed 3rd with 21%, while administration bet Mar Roxas came in third with 18%.
Senaor Miriam Defensor-Santiago was the tailender with 3%.
SWS did the survey through face-to-face interviews with 1,500 respondents, 92% of whom are registered voters.
The results showed a 4 percentage-point increase in support for Duterte from the March 8-11 SWS survey where he got 23%.
In contrast, Poe’s rating in the latest survey dropped by 6-percentage-point from the March 8-11 survey where she gained 29%.
The numbers for Binay and Roxas also dropped compared to the last survey, by 2 percentage-point and 1 percentage-point, respectively.
Santiago’s rating remained unchanged. (MindaNews)
