DOLOGON, Maramag, Bukidnon (MindaNews/06 November) – Four passengers were injured when a bomb went off inside a Rural Transit of Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) bus from Tacurong City bound for Cagayan de Oro City at noon Thursday, police said.
The bomb exploded upon reaching Barangay Dologon in Maramag town, Bukidnon at 12:15 p.
m., according to Inspector Jiselle Longakit of the Provincial Police Office.
Longakit identified the injured passengers of RTMI bus number 204 as Paquito Jivares of Don Carlos, Bukidnon; Ilyn Mancao Quadero of Kibawe, Bukidnon; Daniel Sincero, also of Kibawe; and Diolola Fostanes of Iligan City.
Members of the Philippine National Police’s Explosive Ordnance Division and Crime Laboratory had investigated the crime scene, she added.
MindaNews arrived in Dologon at around 5:30. Mechanics from RTMI who came aboard a towing truck said they were ready to take the damaged bus to Cagayan de Oro, but that were told by police to wait further as investigators wanted to collect more debris for additional evidence.
They added the police in Maramag brought the driver and conductor for questioning.
The explosion damaged the rear part of the bus that carried 31 passengers. Judging from the damage, the bomb only hit the passengers who had seated at the rearmost portion.
Police were yet to determine the type of explosive used.
Longakit meanwhile said Fostanes and Sincero were released after being treated for minor injuries. (H. Marcos C. Mordeno/MindaNews)
