The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Southern Mindanao quoted Digos City Police Desk Officer on duty SPO2 Ali Dugasa as saying that radio blocktimer Sammy Oliverio, 57 “sustained gunshot wound in the head that caused his instant death. “
PIA-XI quoted Radyo Ukay station manager Ramon Sibya as saying Oliverio was a city government-paid blocktimer airing a program over Radyo Ukay and a few other radio stations in Digos City.
Sibya told PIA-XI that Oliverio was no longer anchoring the radio program due to health reasons.
Oliverio reportedly suffered a stroke a month ago.
