DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/18 January) – Public storm warning signal 1 remains hoisted over seven Mindanao provinces as tropical depression Agaton continues to move slowly over Mindanao.

m. said that as of 10 p.m., the center of Tropical Depression Agaton was estimated at 180 kms east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Public storm warning signal 1 was raised over seven Mindanao provinces and Southern Leyte on Friday but the following day, Southern Leyte was delisted. The provinces that remain under Signal 1 are Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley in the Davao region; and all of Caraga region — Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte.
Tropical Depression “Agaton,” forecast to have maximum winds of 55 kph but “almost statinary,” is expected to be at 190 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur Sunday evening, 170 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur by Monday evening and by Tuesday evening, it is expected to be at 90 km south of Davao City, the 11 p.m. January 14 PAGASA advisory said.
