MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/16 February) — A 6.2 magnitude quake hit Davao del Sur at 12:37pm Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the tremor occurred at 4:37:36 a.m. (UTC) 30 kilometers northeast of Sarangani.
UTC or Coordinated Universal Time is eight hours behind Philippine Standard Time.
The quake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 98.
2 kilometers or 61 miles, the USGS added.
The tremor was also felt in Davao City, Malaybalay City and neighboring provinces. (MindaNews)
