KIDAPAWAN CITY (Dec. 25/Tuesday) – A fruit vendor who was in a rush to be with his family on Christmas eve was seriously injured by a speeding car along the highway here, police reports said.
Police identified the victim as Rey Gabanes, 42, of Barangay Amas here.
Gabanes, on board his motorcycle, was about to make a right turn when a speeding black car appeared and hit him.
Instead of helping the victim, the driver of the car sped towards the direction of Davao.
Bystanders nearby rushed the victim to the Cotabato Provincial Hospital for treatment, police said.
The victim sustained severe injuries on his head and other parts of his body.
The family and relatives have sought police assistance to identify the driver so charges could be filed against him. (Malu Cadelina-Manar/MindaNews)
