DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/17 January) – A quake of intermediate depth rocked portions of the Davao Region in southern Mindanao but there was no immediate report of damages.
Eleazar Jorgio, science research assistant at the Davao City office of the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the earthquake has a magnitude of 4.
2 and occurred at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
It has a depth of 77 kilometers, within the intermediate range of depth, and its epicenter was located 30 kilometers northeast of Don Marcelino town in Davao del Sur.
The mild quake was felt at intensity 3 in the towns of Malita and Matanao in Davao del Sur, and intensity 2 in Davao City, and in the towns of Cateel and Tarragona.
