ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/9 Nov) – An Air Force bomber plane was in a total wreck when it crash-landed around 9:50 a.m. today while returning from a “functional check flight” in this city.
Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) spokesman Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang said the two pilots suffered injuries even though they managed to eject before the plane hit the ground.
The pilots were identified as Maj. David Trajano and 1Lt. Adonis Buscas.
Cabangbang said the OV-10 bomber plane with body number 805 took off around 9:02 a.m. from the Edwin Andrews Air Base (EAAB) for a test flight.
Maj. Rommel Miguel, of the EAAB information office, disclosed that one of the plane’s engines malfunctioned during the test flight, prompting the pilots to return to the Air Force base. (MindaNews)
