ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/24 September) – The bodies of two persons believed to be victims of summary executions were found in a coastal barangay east of this city, a police official disclosed Saturday.
City police director Senior Supt. Edwin de Ocampo said the bodies, one of which was beheaded, were discovered around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Culianan, 13 kilometers east of this city.
De Ocampo said the victims’ bodies, which were already in an advanced state of decomposition, were found in a bushy area of a vacant lot around 10 meters away from the road.
He said they have yet to establish the identities of the victims, both of whom were hogtied when recovered.
One of the victims was clad in blue shorts and blue T-shirt with a drawing of a vampire while the other victim, who was beheaded, was clad in denim pants and black T-shirt, he added.
De Ocampo said the victims’ bodies were found when some residents smelled a foul odor and traced where it came from. (MindaNews)
