Engr. Joaquin Sarabia, Davao Region PRISAA athletic manager, said they would allot more funds to enhance the training of all the athletes.
“Since, the national PRISAA meet will be held in Ilo-ilo City, We will have a much lesser expenses for the transportation going there. With that, we can use the money for the training fund of the athletes, “he added.
"We had limited training fund last year that's why we could not give them enough vitamins but we will make it sure this time that we will provide sufficient vitamins, " He said.
The National PRISAA meet is slated April 15 – 21 in Ilo-ilo City.
Meanwhile, the Davao City-PRISAA meet will start its advance games in basketball and volleyball on January 20 at the University of Mindanao Gym here.
Winners in the event will earn the right to represent Davao City in the regional meet, which serve as the selection basis for the Davao Region PRISAA delegation on March 8-10 in Davao City.
"After the regional meet the teams will right away go into training as a selection team, " Sarabia said.
Davao Region unfortunately settled with just runner-up honors for the last three years. Two years in a row, Davao Region finished behind Western Visayas with just less than seven gold medals short.(Rico Biliran/MindaNews)
