The race will start at 6 a.m. after a short "aerobics and stretching" to be rendered by Holiday Spa, a fitness center, staff.
More than 2, 000 runners have already signified their intention to join the event which aims to raise fund that will benefit the lung cancer patients at Davao Medical Center (DMC).
Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President April Marie Dayap said proceeds of the event would all go to the beneficiary.
“This is also an awareness run for the youth that they could get sick from smoking and it has bad effects on their health, “said Dayap.
The race will feature competition in 10-K open (men and women), 5-K open (men and women), 5-K Inter-Barangay (men and women) and 5-K Inter-school (men and women)
Organizers will accept registration up to 4 a.m of January 21 but Project Director Paulo Ouano discouraged late registrants. Dayap said they are already planning to hold the same event in December in celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan. (Rico Biliran/MindaNews)
