P01 Jonathan Pido of the Caraga Municipal Station in Davao Oriental leads the Hope 400km Ultramarathon from Marawi to Davao City, Twelve solo runners and a team relay left Marawi City at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. MindaNews chanced upon Pido at Sitio Lanitom in Suawan, Marilog, Davao City at around 10:44 a.m. Saturday, 11 August, completing by then around 360 kilometers of the race. A resident of Carmen in Davao del Norte, the 38-year old Pido also won last year’s 300-km run from Butuan City to Davao City. Following Pido at least 12 kilometers away was Jake Soriano of Cagayan de Oro City, Neil Forinas Butron of Cabadbaran City and Ma. Theresa Basalio also of Cagayan de Oro City were on the third and fourth spot shortly before 11:30 a.m. The finish line is at the People’s Park in downtown Davao City. MindaNews photo by GG BUENO
