This portion of the Pasonanca river in Zamboanga City is open to the public and has become a popular Sunday getaway for families because it is free and the water is cold, fresh and running wild. It is open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The river emanates from the watershed and is the main source of potable water for the majority of the communities within the city center. A huge intake tank in the restricted upstream takes in the freshwater and is processed for level three water distribution at the Zamboanga City Water District Water Plant in the same barangay.  Photo by JULES BENITEZ
