A colorful Guinakit fluvial parade at the Rio Grande de Mindanao highlights the celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival in Cotabato City Friday (19 Dec 2014). The Guinakit refers to boat festooned with traditional flaglets and decorative cloths. The fluvial parade, which was jointly organized by the ARMM, Maguindanao province and Cotabato City, depicted the arrival of Shariff Muhammad Kabunsuan, an Arab missionary from Johore, Malaysia who introduced the Islamic faith in mainland Mindanao.
