At least 8,000 people from all over Caraga Region attended the Earth Day protest rally in front of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) regional office in Surigao City on Tuesday (22 April 2014). The rallyists condemned the operations of big mining companies, which they said have adverse effects on the environment.
