Lady Lou Garidan, 21, Candidate Number 17, finished her Bachelor in Information Management, cum laude, at the USM in Kabacan, North Cotabato.
The beauty pageant will be held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on March 8.
Out of 500 aspirants, only 24 were chosen, among them Garidan, a native of Barangay Osias in Kabacan. Garidan said she filed her candidacy through the internet.
“I was surprised when the organizers called and informed me that I am now an official candidate for Binibining Pilipinas 2008,” she said. This is the second time that North Cotabato has a representative in the national beauty pageant.
Last year, Nadia Lee Chien Dela Cruz Shami of Midsayap, North Cotabato was proclaimed Binibining Pilipinas International.
Nadia also tried her luck in joining Ms. Philippines-Earth pageant where she was named Ms Air. (Williamor A. Magbanua/MindaNews)
