SPO3 Nelson Pillo, head of intelligence section of Magpet PNP, identified the suspect as Blas Gabao, 36, of Barangay Inac, Magpet.
Pillo said a concerned citizen from Magpet spotted the suspect selling durian besides the Mobile Republic and Jervoso’s Place and immediately notified the police.
Pillo approached Gabao and presented the arrest warrant dated December 17, 2004 signed by Municipal Trial Court Judge Vicente Mondragon.
“Actually the suspect did not resist when we approached and served the arrest warrant to him. He even voluntarily went with us back to Magpet,” the police officer said.
Police investigators said Gabao was charged with three counts of rape at the MTC in Magpet for allegedly raping a woman in Barangay Inac sometime in December 2004.
Pillo said the woman claimed that the suspect raped her three times while she was alone inside their nipa hut in Inac.
The woman reportedly refused at first to tell the incident to his husband because of fear. In her affidavit she said the suspect threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident.
Gabao is temporarily detained in Magpet PNP detention cell while waiting for his transfer to the provincial jail.
