DAVAO CITY–Every fashion fan knows that with each New Year come new trends, new favorites, and new ways of wearing old staples. To kick off another year in style, Abreeza Mall’s monthly Fashion Forum gave fashion fans a preview of looks that are sure to hit the streets in 2015.
Offering an interactive styling presentation was M Magazine Fashion & Beauty Editor Otoi Mercado. The guest speaker demonstrated through models some trends to incorporate into your wardrobe this 2015, such as denim, black and white, geometric patterns, polo shirts, scarves, loose silhouettes, and comfy footwear. To further encourage guests to enhance their personal style year in and year out, Mercado, who is also a stylist, makeup artist, and former fashion designer, also shared no-fail tips and style rules that always apply no matter what year it is.
In keeping with the theme “What’s In This 2015”, guests gamely arrived in clothing and accessories in the color marsala—a “naturally robust and earthy wine red” that has been proclaimed by the Pantone Color Institute in New Jersey as the Color of the Year for 2015.
Also joining the event were students from the Fashion Institute of Design & Arts and the Philippine Women’s College of Davao’s Fashion Design Program, who were present to learn from one of Davao City’s most in-demand names in fashion and beauty.
The first Fashion Forum for the year was made possible through the participation of M Magazine, as well as partner merchants Dorothy Perkins, Gap, Morellato, Original Penguin, Sneaker Club, Snoe Beauty, SOUL Lifestyle, The Optical Shop, Yosi Samra, and food partner TGI Fridays.
The Fashion Forum is a monthly convergence of fashion and lifestyle press, bloggers, designers, insiders, and enthusiasts that serves as a platform for the discussion and promotion of notable trends, projects, personalities, brands, ideas, and more. Through the Fashion Forum, Abreeza Mall hopes to nurture and spread a stronger style consciousness in Davao City with the support and collaboration of industry professionals, members of the media, and local fashion fans.
