Cpl. Ronilo Medialuna, 37 and resident of Barangay Ilustre here, was on his way home from a drinking spree when ambushed by unidentified perpetrators.
Insp. Susana Guhiling, President Roxas chief of police, said the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body that caused his instantaneous death.
Police investigators recovered a homemade 12-gauge shotgun and four live ammunition in the crime scene a few meters away from the cadaver of the victim.
Guhiling believed that the firearm and the ammunition were owned by the perpetrators that immediately left the crime scene upon sensing the responding members of the Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO).
President Roxas PNP is looking into the possibility that personal grudge is behind the killing.
Guhiling said Medialuna’s elder brother was involved in killing a resident of President Roxas last month but no formal complaint was filed in court.
The chief of police urged the residents near the crime scene to cooperate and give accurate information regarding the killing in order to solve the case soon.
“Please if you have any information on the crime and if you personally witnessed the killing and know the suspects, please tell us so we could solve this case,” Guhiling appealed. (Williamor A. Magbanua / MindaNews)
