Panguil Bay Bridge completed by June 2024
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MindaNews / 1 February)—The final span of the Panguil Bay Bridge would be connected by June this year, completing the project that started in November 2018, according to the Northern Mindanao director of the National Economic Development Authority, Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño.
The P7.135-billion bridge would cut the travel time between Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental from two hours to just seven minutes, the Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 10 said.
The 3.17-kilometer bridge, according to a Philippine Information Agency-Region 10 statement, is financed by a loan agreement between the government of the Philippines and the Korean Export Import Bank. (Froilan Gallardo / MindaNews)
Army completes repair of Butig school buildings
ILIGAN CITY (MindaNews / 1 February)—The Philippine Army turned over P3.5-million worth of repaired school buildings of the Ragayan Elementary School in Butig, Lanao del Sur to the Department of Education on Tuesday.
The renovation project was financed by the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative implemented through the Army’s 553rd Engineer Battalion of the 55th Engineer Brigade.
The school buildings were damaged during the fierce encounter between the Armed Forces and the ISIS-inspired Maute group in February 2016.
