COTABATO CITY (MindaNews / 2 Aug) – A known drug dealer here was killed when he tried to elude arrest during a buy-bust operation Tuesday, reports said.[]
Killed was Yasser Salik Masabpi Kalipa, 42, of Barangay Bagua-Mother in Cotabato City.
Senior Insp. Tirso Pascual, chief of the Station 4 of the Cotabato City Police Office, said the suspect tried to escape instead of yielding to authorities after he was caught selling “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride.
He allegedly tried throwing a grenade but even before he could execute it, personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) already shot him in his body.
Authorities recovered from Kalipa’s possession three sachets of shabu, several drug paraphernalia, and a hand grenade.[]
