OZAMIZ CITY (MindaNews/31 July) — Police operatives who raided the house of Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog took with them her computer’s hard disk containing the files of footage of a CCTV installed inside and outside her house in Barangay San Roque, the official alleged on Monday.
The vice mayor’s father Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., mother Susan, uncle Octavio Jr. and 12 other persons were killed in simultaneous raids on their houses early Sunday.
The vice mayor was arrested after the raid. An initial police inventory showed an M-16 rifle, a grenade and about 500 grams of crystalline substance believed to be shabu were recovered from her house, the reason for her arrest.
But the official has asked for an investigation on the conduct of police raiders.
She said the CCTV files will reveal that the law enforcers carried out some questionable actions in the process of serving a search warrant issued by a Quezon City regional trial court.
“If indeed there were no irregularities, why should they take with them the hard disk?” Parojinog said in the dialect.
She also accused the police raiders of planting the evidences supposedly recovered from the house.
On Monday morning, Parojinog and brother Reynaldo Jr. were flown to Manila for inquest before the Quezon City court that issued the warrants.
The warrants were issued to search for firearms in the houses of Parojinog, her father, brother Reynaldo Jr.,and uncle Ricardo.
The farm houses of Reynaldo and Ricardo were also the subject of search warrants.
Sunday’s police raid in Parojinog’s house resulted to a security guard killed inside her house who Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, city police chief, said resisted the law enforcement operation.
A total of 14 individuals were killed in the simultaneous raids on the houses of the vice mayor, the mayor and Reynaldo Jr.
One more was killed when police raiders stormed the mayor’s farm house in hinterland Kinuman Norte. (Ryan Rosauro/for MindaNews)
