ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews / 12 June) – A German national was arrested in Dipolog City for the crime of two counts of grave oral defamation, the police reported Thursday.
Arrested was Norbert Kruger, 48, of Halver, Germany and temporarily residing in Barangay Anahaw, Galas, Dipolog City.
Senior Insp. Joseph Ortega, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) spokesman, said Kruger was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his residence in Dipolog City during a manhunt operation against wanted persons.
Ortega said Kruger is facing charges for two counts of grave oral defamation docketed under criminal case numbers b-42115 and b-42116 before the Sala of Judge Veronica Laput of Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2.
Ortega said a warrant for Kruger’s arrest was issued last Tuesday with recommended bail of P6,000 for each count.
He said Kruger is detained at the Dipolog City police station.
