MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/17 February) — A graduate of Mountain View College in Valencia City, Bukidnon topped the 2011 Nursing Licensure Examination, according to the announcement of the Professional Regulation Commission Thursday.
Jerald L. Pelayo, who is now back in his hometown Masbate City, got a rating of 86.4 percent. Closely trailing Pelayo is Linsid Angelou A. Tapongot from Xavier University with a rating of 86 percent.
Another graduate from MVC, Jierell Mae Victor Saguinhon, landed on the 9th place.
Speaking through his Facebook account, Pelayo, who described himself as “a simple creature with simple dreams in life yet loved by God,” thanked God and supporters for his success.
“This has been the utterance of our prayers.
This has been our dream. This has been our hope. And now, this miracle is our shared success.
This is all our victory,” he said in a post Friday afternoon.
About 17 of the 60 passers who made it to the top 10 were from nursing schools in Mindanao, including 10 from Xavier University.
