Mario Palazuelo, Arnis Philippines Davao region chief said the tournament is divided into two divisions – 19 years old above and 18 years old and below with a total of seven weight categories.

The weight classes include extra lightweight, half-lightweight, lightweight, half middleweight, middleweight, half heavyweight and heavyweight.

Among those seeing action are arnis players from Mati, Digos, Tagum, Tacurong, Palazuelo and Davao City.

Medals are up for grabs in the event sanctioned by Arnis Philippines , the governing body of the sport in the country. The tournament aims to develop and promote the sport arnis in Davao City. (Rico Biliran/MindaNews)
