Fuentes to sign the environment code that bans open pit mining,  in Surigao City, some 200 farmers and mothers in Anislagan in Placer, Surigao de Norte marched to the Hall of Justice to file a complaint against three mining giants, to protect their agricultural village and source of water.

This is the first case that will  put to test the new Supreme Court-
promulgated environmental case proceedings .
