Since People Power in 1986 toppled the Marcos dictatorship and restored democracy, we have trooped to the polls 10 times to elect our mayors, governors, local legislators and district representatives: 1988, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 (the first post-EDSA election of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate was held in 1987).

Let’s check the names of Mindanao’s provincial governors, city mayor and district representative to Congress from 1987 to 2019, or in the case of new provinces, new cities, and new districts, since their first election as such.
The focus for now is limited only to Mindanao’s governors, city mayors and district representatives to Congress, after 1986. MindaNews hopes to expand the research later. We hope you can do similar tables in your respective towns.
Mindanao has 27 provinces and 33 cities and has a total of 14,440,024 registered voters for the May 2019 polls, representing 23.35% of the country’s 61.8 million voters.
The tables are done per province. The cities of Mindanao are included in the provinces they belong to or where the provincial capitols are based. Separate tables have been made for the cities of Davao and Zamboanga.(MindaNews)
