KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/8 Sept) – Villagers of Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat discovered along the highway in Poblacion the body of a 35-year-old mother oozing with blood around 5:30 a.m. today.
Supt. Bernard Mendoza, Isulan police chief, identified the victim as Psyche Nabong of Ezperanza town, mother of three and reportedly separated from her husband.
Nabong, police reports said, sustained a fatal wound on her right breast. She also had protruded eyes, an indication that the victim was beaten by still unidentified suspects.
Mendoza discounted rape as possible motive because “there was no sign the victim was sexually molested.”
He hinted the victim could have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped along the highway.
Police quoted Nabong’s live-in partner, a barangay chair in a town in Maguindanao whom the police refused to identify, that he saw the victim wake up around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday to prepare for their “buka” or meal before they start the fast.
Three hours later, the victim was still nowhere to be found.
The live-in partner was surprised to know that Nabong was already lying dead along the zigzag road of the Poblacion in Isulan.
Mendoza said nobody from the house saw the victim leave the compound.
Nabong’s parents and relatives in North Cotabato want a deeper probe of the killing.
Police operatives are studying all angles to the killing, including “love triangle.”
Nabong separated from her husband but is now living with a Maguindanao man who has two wives. (Malu Cadeliña Manar / MindaNews)
