ARMM poll watchdog assesses Oct. 29 barangay/SK polls

KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/Nov 29) – Some 30 volunteers of the Citizens Coalition for ARMM Electoral Reforms (CARE), a Cotabato-City based poll watchdog, completed over the weekend a three-day assessment of the October 29 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Fewer voters trooped to polls in Davao City

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/29 October) — Police reported a generally peaceful election here, citing only one election-related violence as of midday. 

But there was a "very" low voter turnout, prompting  Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to say Dabwenos lack interest in their barangay government.

More police personnel deployed to Region 12

Mindanao in the dark eve of elections

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/28 October) – Residents in nearly all of Mindanao’s 27 provinces and 33 cities experienced power outage between 1 p.m. and  7 p.m. Sunday, eve of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, but officials of the National Transmission Corporation (Transco)  ruled out “terrorist attack” and instead blamed the brownouts on “major system trouble.”
