Police identified the suspect as Musali Gardo, 35, a.k.a. Musali Cado, Musalim Abas and Dyanggo. He was arrested by the combined police forces of Cotabato, Kidapawan City and Tacurong City in a remote village of President Quirino town, Sultan Kudarat province.
Musali was one of the 30 individuals facing murder, multiple frustrated murder, multiple attempted murder in relation to the KMCC mall bombing on November 22, 2007 here.
Supt. Joel Limpson the chief of police of Tacurong City PNP said the arrested Al Khobar member confessed that some members of their group were still hiding in the area but Limpson declined to disclose these places.
Meantime Musali, admitted to Rep. Bernardo Piñol on his participation in the jailbreak at the North Cotabato Provincial Jail on February 2, 2007.
Forty-two prisoners escaped in the jailbreak including the three high-profiled bombers responsible for Kidapawan and Makilala bombings in the previous years.
Musali also reportedly confessed on his participation in the bombing of Transco tower in Barangay Nuangan, Kidapawan and the Weena bus bombing in the town of Matalam, North Cotabato in 2007.
The arrested Al Khobar suspect vowed to cooperate to police authorities to arrest some of his cohorts.
Records from the Cotabato Provincial PNP disclosed that four members of Al Khobar group had been arrested following the massive operations against them. They included Muhalidin Hassan and Alex Sanduyugan who were caught few hours after the KMCC bombing.
Melvin Claro was arrested in their residence in Roxas street on February 8 this year Claro allegedly was the financial conduit of the group.
