BJMP embarks on 1st sem Sportsfest

CDO mayor Jaraula renews 435 casual appointments

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (City Information Office/7 Feb) — City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula renewed the contract of appointments of some 435 casual and job order employees of the City Government this month.
 
Adriano Lumagsao, chief of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) disclosed that of the 598 casual and job order employees whose contracts have ended last December 31, 2007, 387 casual employees and 48 job order employees were approved by Mayor Jaraula for renewal.

DAVAO CITY (DTI XI/07 February) –The Davao region generated a total of P9.18 billion of investments last year, 44 percent higher compared to 2006 figure of P6.36 billion.
 
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 reported that the 2007 accomplishment is 56 percent above its annual target.

DENR halts kaingin in Maitum

MAITUM, Sarangani (February 7, 2008) – Environment authorities yesterday stopped a kaingin or slash-and-burn operation in a barangay where burning of a wooded area barely started.
 
In a letter-complaint coursed thru the office of Mayor Elsie Perrett, Barangay Captain Wanan, two barangay kagawads and a landowner adjacent to the kaingin area alleged that "one Mr. Noli Peralta under the instruction of Mr. Mamerto Cardenas was cutting trees" in the forest area of barangay Ticulab.
