good news from Mindanao: soon, local government units (LGU) in Visayas, Luzon,
and even the world, will be learning from the best practices here.
The best practices and emerging best practices vary – from
improving the collection of real property taxes to increasing revenue from
business permits by as much as 300% as in the case of Zamboanga City; reducing
the paperwork for housing and ensuring that the LGU-operated bus terminal,
market or hospital can serve the constituents well and at the same time earn.
